Does my insurance cover medication from Essential Clinic?
Coverage varies greatly between insurance providers and plans. We are unable to determine if the medications we offer will be covered by your specific plan. We recommend checking with your insurance provider directly to confirm coverage details.
Please note that since some of our medications are prescribed for cosmetic purposes (e.g. hair loss), our clinic is unable to bill your insurance directly. However, many of our patients successfully get reimbursed by submitting their receipts to their insurance provider.
How do I submit an insurance claim?
For detailed instructions on how to submit a claim, including where to find your medication receipt and how to request a consultation invoice, please see our article: How to Get a Receipt for Insurance Reimbursement.
What if my insurance needs an ingredient list?
Some insurance providers may request a list of ingredients for compounded medications (such as topical finasteride + minoxidil gel, oral minoxidil, 2-in-1 finasteride + minoxidil pill, etc.). Submit a request and we will be happy to provide the ingredient list for your medication.
What are the commonly dispensed DINs?
If you provide the medication DIN to your insurance provider, they can confirm whether the medication is covered and determine the exact coverage available.
If your insurance only covers specific DINs, please let us know which DIN is covered, and we can check with our pharmacy team to see if it can be dispensed.

▪️NO DIN AVAILABLE - compounded medication that may require you to submit an ingredient list to your insurance for reimbursement.
NOTE: For our compounded medications, a DIN is not available, since these medications are not commercially available. When submitting the information to your insurance, they will know the reason for a lack of DIN during their review based on the submission details.
